BREAKING: Almost All Special Events at Tokyo Disney Resort Cancelled Through March 2021

Tokyo Disney Resort is well-known for its seasonal events, covering the entire year with reasons for Guests and Annual Passholders to come back often with unique entertainment, food, and merchandise offerings. But in the wake of COVID-19 safety precautions, the Tokyo Disney Resort announced today that they are cancelling almost all special events at both parks through March 2021.

Every event we announced last year for FY2020 has been cancelled, except one. This includes the following:

Tokyo Disneyland

  • Disney Halloween (September 11 – November 1)
  • Disney Christmas (November 10 – December 25)
  • New Year’s 2021 (January 1 -5, 2021)
  • Untitled Beauty and the Beast Program (January 13 – February 14, 2021)

Tokyo DisneySea

  • Disney Easter (March 27 – June 12)
  • CookieAnn’s Greeting Drive (March 27 – May 31)
  • Duffy’s Sunny Fun (June 4 – August 26)
  • Disney Pirates Summer (July 1 – September 2)
  • Disney Halloween (September 11 – November 1)
  • Disney Christmas (November 10 – December 25)
  • New Year’s 2021 (January 1 – 5, 2021)
  • Untitled Duffy & Friends program (January 13 – March 25, 2021)

The New Year’s Eve countdown at both parks, an annual special ticket tradition, has also been cancelled.

The only event still set to take place is The Happy Fair with Baymax at Tokyo Disneyland, which has been postponed until further notice. This leaves the event calendar at both parks bare through the end of March 2021, usually when Easter begins. But this next year is particularly special as well, since the Tokyo DisneySea 20th Anniversary celebration is set to take place starting in early-mid April 2021 through March 2022, as it does every 5 years. Only time will tell as to whether this program will come to fruition, but it seems the Oriental Land Company is already behaving rather cautiously, and settling in with the current precautions for the long haul.
