A construction crane at the The Cove project site near the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort was struck by lighting today, causing it to erupt in flames around 11:35 AM.
Nearby onlookers claimed the lightning strike was very loud:
The fire was extinguished within a matter of minutes, and construction crews are back on site.
No injuries have been reported as of yet, thankfully, but we will continue to update you as further information surfaces.
