PHOTOS: Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Reopens in the Magic Kingdom with Numbered Sections and New Protocols for Social Distancing

Royal greetings from Fantasyland! We’re back in the Magic Kingdom and exploring the regal land, while also taking note of the new park protocols amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Our next stop is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, which has implemented some new procedures to help keep guests, cast members, and horses safe on the attraction. Let’s take a ride together, shall we?

The horses of the Carrousel are quite tightly packed in to the attraction, so in order to properly adhere to the new social distancing rules, changes in loading and riding the attraction were expected.

It could be said that part of the fun of riding a carrousel is running on to the platform, and racing around to find the most noble steed to ride. Unfortunately, that element of riding has now had to be altered, in favor of a new, health and safety-approved, system.

You can see from the photos that stylized arrows have been put on the floor, pointing guests either way around the carrousel from when the enter through the gate.

As well as the arrows, the other main feature is the new numbers, placed in front of each section of horses on the ride. The procedure here has changed, as guests are now escorted by a cast member to a designated section, so that social distancing can be properly adhered to.

We hope you enjoyed this ride on the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel with us. Is this an attraction you’ll be riding once you arrive back in the Magic Kingdom?

Have you seen that, over in Hong Kong Disneyland, Cinderella herself was spotted socially-distancing whilst riding the carrousel there earlier this week?
