With our day at the Magic Kingdom Cast Member preview done, we thought we’d take a ride on the Magic Kingdom Ferryboat and see what measures they’re taking to help prevent the possible spread of COVID-19.
Markers on the ground mark two things: how far to socially distance (between markers) and what priority departure you’re in. If you’re on a marker marked “2,” you’ll leave on the second boat to depart.
The closer to the ferryboat dock you get, the lower the number on the markers gets.
Groups space themselves out after a long day.
This blue line is where guests usually wait for the next ferryboat to load, but the social distancing markers serve that purpose for the time being.
Now it’s time to embark on the General Joe Potter.
Distancing markers also appear on the floor of the boat for guests who will stand.
Like in restaurants and Relaxation Stations, select seating areas have been made unavailable for social distancing.
Markers on the benches show where it’s okay to sit.
As we disembark at the Transportation & Ticket Center, we can see similar measures in place.
Social distancing markers note where to stand when guests enter the boat.
The numbered markers also appear here.
Because people are supposed to be distanced, ferryboat queuing has spread out past its usual area in the Center. For guests traveling to Magic Kingdom park, there will be no tram service from the parking lot to the Transportation & Ticket Center, but the Express Monorail and the Ferryboats will be available from the Transportation & Ticket Center to the main entrance.
