After a malfunction earlier this afternoon led to the fall of the beloved Jose Carioca animatronic aboard the Gran Fiesta Tour at the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT, it seems the attraction’s maintenance crew has come up with a clever way to disguise the temporarily paralyzed parrot.
In an update courtesy of MagicalNewsLIVE on Twitter (also the originator of the first video), it seems a small ofrenda or altar has been set up over on top of the fallen animatronic, in the form of various props, like a sombrero, woven baskets, and flowers, stacked to disguise the scene:
Earlier today during a WDWNT livestream of the World Showcase at EPCOT, we noticed that the Jose Carioca animatronic at the Gran Fiesta Tour attraction in the Mexico Pavilion was a little… shakier than usual. The ride closed briefly while these adjustments were made as a temporary solution to the malfunction.
We expect the animatronic to return in some form as early as tomorrow, however depending on the necessary repairs, it may take much longer for Jose Carioca to make his big return. Gran Fiesta Tour is a regular on our WDWNT Maintenance Reports, and we hope these beloved animatronics receive the loving tune-up they deserve.
Stay tuned for further updates to the Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT.
It’s hard to believe that Jose did a face-plant.
I’m guessing Chapek needed a tune-up since we all know he is a…..Robot 🤖
COVID truly does not discriminate.
