Walt Disney World Confirms Suspension of Parking Lot Tram Service for Upcoming Official Reopenings

Ahead of Walt Disney World’s theme parks reopening to the public, parking lot tram service has been suspended.

Scott Gustin confirmed the news on Twitter on Wednesday. Previously, it was announced that tram service would be suspended for Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews, but that suspension has been extended to public attendance.

To prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, guests are being encouraged to socially distance beginning in the parking lots, with cars being parked in every other space. Cast members were warned during previews to “please plan on walking a longer than normal distance to the Main Entrance.” The tram service suspension is believed to be part of the social distancing plan.

  1. I sent this link to a friend I used to work with in parking. She replied with, “Oh jeez. Why even go?”

    I know, right?

  2. Seems a useful way to handle parking would be to fill a row with every other space and then when the row fills, go back and fill in the empty spaces – the guests in the “odd-numbered” spaces will have departed by the time the guests are exiting their cars from the even-numbered spaces.
