Howdy there, partner! Hello from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We were excited to spend the day at this exciting park, but we had no idea what fun new things were in store for us! Let’s get started!
While we technically aren’t allowed to line up to park at the parking gate until 60 minutes prior to park opening time, we arrived a few minutes early and boy are we glad we did. It seems everyone else had the same idea, and when the two-lane road bottleneck area at the beginning of this multi-lane area fills with cars too fast, it seems that security doesn’t have much choice but to slowly open up this area to cars. Right after we took this picture, we were allowed in to the parking lot, even though we had not been held at the parking gate the standard full 15 minutes.
When we got into the park, we noticed right away the new signage for the recently-installed Mulan sneak peak at Walt Disney Presents. New information was recently released about the pricing structure for this film once it releases digitally. We can’t wait to see it!
We found this adorable new “The Child” mug at Mickey’s of Hollywood next and knew our day was off to a good start. Just look at that face! This is the way.
The Darkroom was well-stocked with all the latest Limited Edition offerings, including the popular “The Child” Limited Edition MagicBand. We noticed that these sold out by midday, so if you want one, be sure to stop by in the morning.
We found a pretty useful sale going on given the heat advisory that is in effect until this weekend—cooling fans are on sale for $15.00 sales tax included, with the regular price being $22.00 sales tax included. Take advantage of this while you can! We found this particular set up at Celebrity 5 & 10, but also saw the sale going on at Mickey’s of Hollywood.
Last week, we noticed that the stock of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Limited Edition Wishables blind packs were running low, but today we saw them fully restocked. There are many packs available for you to come try your luck at getting the tiny plush that you desire.
One of the most exciting finds today was this amazing popcorn bucket replica of none other than the mighty automotive steed Guinevere from the film Onward. We were truly impressed with this popcorn bucket, which also rolls and has functioning headlights! It’s the perfect thing to hold your popcorn on your next quest.
Next, we found this stunning light-up tumbler featuring an image of Cinderella Castle lit up for “Happily Ever After” and a crenellated tower top. It was quite a day for epic feastware!
The tarp was removed last night from the top portion of the Legends of Hollywood sign, and was installed instead on the bottom. The neon is still stripped from the sign, so it’s unclear if they will be adding that back in or not.
We found this fun Villains shirt in the Wonderground Gallery section of Tower Hotel Gifts, and feel it’s really matching our Halloween vibes recently. We love this style!
Speaking of Halloween vibes, the Halloween window displays have arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We love seeing these fun displays pop up across the parks!
Around lunch time, we noticed crowds gathered outside of Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters as Guests waited for their Mobile Orders to be prepared. With no designated place to wait, it can get crowded, and maintaining social distance can be difficult.
We noticed wait times were not too bad today. In the early afternoon, Toy Story Mania! was a 15-minute wait, but the line was housed completely inside the attraction.
The same was true for Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run. In the early afternoon, the wait time was 40 minutes, and while the line wrapped around the square earlier in the day for the same wait time, by this point the line was completely inside the attraction.
We also saw this rare sight at Slinky Dog Dash. The ride was still a 40-minute wait in the early afternoon, but the line was down to just what was underneath the covered queue close to the attraction loading zone. We haven’t seen the line this short in a long time!
We took a moment to look up in a spot in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance when most people are looking somewhere else and saw a TIE Fighter. This ride amazes us every time we ride it. It has been experiencing some technical difficulties recently, and unfortunately today was no exception. We experienced some audio drops today, but all other major components were functional. We’re just glad R5 is working again!
On our way out, we ran into the Pixar Motorcade and Elastigirl being her awesome self. We love the Character Cavalcades!
