The Cove Expansion Renamed as “The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve”

The new hotel coming to the Swan and Dolphin complex, previously announced as The Cove, has been officially renamed The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, per Jeffrey Davidson, Director of Creative Marketing at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.

The resort reached out shortly after our latest construction update was published earlier today. The exact reasoning for the name change was not disclosed, however the rebranding seems to cement the new expansion as a convention-oriented, event-focused hotel within the Swan and Dolphin Resort brand.

Announced back in 2018, the tower has been under construction since early 2019. Signage and concept art for The Cove was posted on construction walls when the project first started.

The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve will feature a rooftop restaurant and lounge, which will have a dedicated ground floor entrance and elevator for those not staying at the resort. It will be a 375 seat upscale restaurant with a partial expo kitchen. The bar will have about 40 seats. The windows will be floor to ceiling to provide a great view of Walt Disney World, including a rooftop trellis area for unobstructed views.

Upon completion, Swan Reserve will join the Swan and Dolphin Resort complex near EPCOT with 349 rooms, taking the total rooms available at the complex to 2,600. Like the Swan and Dolphin hotels, Swan Reserve will have walking access to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk, Yacht Club, and Beach Club resorts.

  1. I mean, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to associate “Dolphin”s and “The Cove”. But I think they’re missing out not calling it “Swans Crossing.”
