Good morning from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We had a fun day here in this classic park, even though it was busier crowd-wise. Let’s get started!

Unlike other parks around the resort, cars are not allowed to approach the parking gate until an hour before opening, due to the fact that there is an easy place to turn cars around just before you reach the gate. About five minutes before being allowed to line up, however, this smaller area fills up quickly with cars, all hoping to be the first to be allowed in.

New contactless security screening machines were installed recently, allowing guests to walk through these detectors with all belongings on them. Security is instructing guests who have any metal water bottles, aerosol cans, or umbrellas to hold them out in front of them as they walk through rather than placing those items in a bin.

Legends of Hollywood is still having work done to the sign out front. The top portion of the sign in wrapped in scrim fabric, shielding it from view. Earlier this year, the neon was stripped from this sign. Work has been ongoing with no known end date.

While at Legends of Hollywood and Keystone Clothiers, we found not one but two new Dress Shop dresses fit for a night out on the town. This Haunted Mansion dress has fun details to excite fans of the classic attraction, and it has pockets!

The second dress features Minnie Mouse and has a unique shaped top that we find quite flattering. We love Minnie’s style!

We found a nice selection of Wishables at Once Upon A Time, including the popular Toy Story Mania! blind pack. You can also find these at the exit shop for the attraction itself.

After entering the park and checking out a few stores, it was time for the first chance at boarding groups for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. As always, the groups went live at exactly 10:00 am and were filled within seconds. The same was true at the 2:00 pm boarding group drop. Distant shouts of excitement could be heard throughout the park as people got boarding groups and celebrated their victory, but others were not so lucky and did not get a chance to experience the attraction.

We have seen several different setups for the queue for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway since the reopening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but this one was particularly efficient in our opinion. The line switchbacked into this auxiliary area to the side of the ride building, with ample space in between to maintain social distancing. The area was then roped off to separate the line from the regular guest area. The wait time at the time this photo was taken was 60 minutes.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was temporarily unavailable shortly after opening, and remained so for about 45 minutes. Guests who had gotten a boarding pass at 10 am were not notified through the MyDisneyExperience app that the ride was down, as that functionality has never been available, but the estimated time remaining did stop counting down and the ride was listed as temporarily unavailable through the app and on the information boards found throughout the park.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was at 60 minutes around midday today, and the line stretched into the square and wrapped around the base of the Millennium Falcon. We did note that it was moving fairly steadily forward while we were taking this photo.

We caught a fun moment between Vi Moradi and a Stormtrooper today as the Rebel hid just under the watchful eye of the First Order. The Stormtrooper was too busy heckling the guests below to notice Vi just behind him.

Also around midday the line for Toy Story Mania! stretched out to the edge of Toy Story Land at a 60-minute wait. This line was not moving as fast as some others we have seen, but at least for this portion, the majority of it is in the shade.

Last time we were here we spotted that Pumpkin Cold Brew had returned to the Joffrey’s Coffee location near Municiberg, but in a rather unofficial way with a sticker on the menu. When we went by today there was a shiny new sign, proclaiming the official return of the popular fall flavor, as well as the caramel flavor shot.

We peeked in the window at Beverly Sunset Boutique hoping to find a stocked shop ready to open, and instead found bare shelves. Not everything has been removed, but certain sections have been cleared, no doubt to stock other stores that are open in the park.

The popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ears were restocked today and were selling fast. When we took this picture a Cast Member had just restocked one peg full of ears after the wall of four pegs had been cleared by eager guests.

On our way out we found this fun new hat featuring a classic line from the Indiana Jones films. We love the logo!
