It was an exciting day at the Magic Kingdom, and we were there to soak in all the magic and send it all your way! With the big Halloween merchandise debut yesterday, and Park Pass availability added for Annual Passholders overnight, we thought today might be a quiet day, but it’s never a dull moment at the parks. Let’s get started!

Recently, we noticed that temporary social distancing markers had been added along the right hand side of Main Street USA, presumably to help distance guests while watching Character Cavalcades go by. Today, we found new temporary markers along the left-hand side of the street.

Most of the markers had been removed from the right hand side, except for a small section in front of the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and a few stray markers on the corner.

One piece of Halloween merchandise was very popular, and sold out instantly this morning. The Halloween treats Loungefly mini backpack flew off of the shelves, and while it was restocked once a little later, those didn’t last long, either.

With the new sales going on across Walt Disney World, we found a few nice displays showing off the newly discounted merchandise. One such display was this one at Uptown Jewelers, featuring both the Rainbow and Americana Collections.

Its a small world queue barriers installed magic kingdom 8182020

New barriers were installed in the queue for “it’s a small world”, allowing guests to remain safe in an area where maintaining social distance is impossible. While the wait time was short enough that this inside queue was not in use today, it’s good to know that these barriers are in place for the future.

The box surrounding construction work outside of Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar has been removed, although rope barriers are keeping guests from walking over the area previously covered by the box. It appears that new cement was poured and painted here, judging by the fresh red color.

Though slightly higher than yesterday, wait times remained reasonable today. Haunted Mansion was at 25 minutes at midday. The line stretched out of the attraction’s normal queue, but it was moving quite quickly.

Towards the end of the day, we heard a new announcement reminding guests to keep their masks on, even for photos. We really appreciate Disney enforcing this policy!

  1. Thanks for the good ‘in the street’ point of view. The phrase, “treated to a Rainy Day Cavalcade, and these smiling Cast Members” reminds me of one of the special reasons I love going to WDW, smiles. The masks everywhere have taken so many smiles from my life and it gets me down sometimes.
