PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 8/12/20 (Central Park Crepes Opens, New Halloween Horror Nights Keychain, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Closed After Fire, and More)

It’s another great day to be visiting the Universal Orlando Resort and we’ve decided to start our day off at Islands of Adventure. As we approached the entrance of the park, we spotted a sign notifying guests that Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure would not be operating for the day.

We made our way to Hogsmeade, where all was quiet around the entrance. Team Members were stationed in front of the attraction to inform guests the attraction would not be opening for the day. Due to a fire yesterday, the ride would not be opening for the day and no word on when it will reopen.

The focus right now looks to be on the rock work growing around the site of the unannounced Jurassic Park coaster. There are tarps around the sections that crew are working, and we can see more progress and detailing on the exposed sections.

Walls are also starting to go up around the area just below the watch tower.

We discovered that premier passholders now have Express access starting at 2 PM, due to the shortened park hours.

Cinnabon at the front of the park was closed today, so we wish we had stopped at the one in CityWalk before heading into the park.

Over at Universal Studios Florida, we were greeted by the smell of fresh, hot crepes with the opening of Central Park Crepes. Luckily, we were ready for lunch, because we reviewed all 6 different crepes available on the menu. Carrying a half dozen crepes is no easy task, we can tell you that.

Over at the Tribute Store, a new Halloween Horror Nights keychain has arrived featuring the Pumpkin Lord. The keychain is $14, and we can only hope more options will arrive soon.

Speaking of scary things, the Fast & Furious Supercharged exit hallway looks pretty creepy with the lights off.

Barney is meeting on the small stage in KidZone, but he was all by himself today. We were lucky to meet the whole gang on our last visit, so we can hope maybe the rest of Barney’s friends will be out again soon.

We also noticed that the Fievel banners in the area have been removed, but we’re wondering if we might see the Barney banners moved over here eventually. It would make sense to have the Barney banners by the Barney meet and greet.

That’s all for this visit to the parks. We’ll be back again soon, so be sure to keep following Universal Parks News Today for more updates.
