We’re back at Universal’s Islands of Adventure to check out the latest updates to the unannounced Jurassic Park “Velocicoaster”. We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction lately and today we noticed the installation of some new pieces that resemble a dinosaur transport cage.

We had speculated that this gray structure might have been some sort of cage, and with the additional perforated metal pieces, it looks like we were correct. Judging by the size, this looks like it might be meant for a raptor.

The rock work is really starting to tower over the construction walls. This has already really enhanced this area and there is still much more to come.

Our little “raptor” friend, the osprey, is still nesting atop the coaster track. You can read more about her and see her in flight here.

Down by the lagoon, we can see the wall has mostly been filled in. There are even conical rebar frames in place where concrete points will be added so the wall will match the surrounding area.

There also appears to be some support beams on the ground. The track is still incomplete in this area, so we’re waiting for those pieces to be installed.

We are eager for Universal Orlando to make an official announcement for this new coaster, but until then, we’ll just have to watch and wait. Be sure to keep following Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
