It’s no secret that something big is changing the shape of Islands of Adventure. The still unnamed “Velocicoaster” is quickly taking form, and has come a long way from our very first update. While the track is still incomplete, we noticed the installation of a black box along the tallest part of the track, near the brakes.

We assume this might be some sort of power source for the brakes, based on the placement.

There’s a large, gray structure on the back of the show building that is getting topped off by some interesting pieces. This area currently has a slight resemblance to the entrance to the Raptor Encounter. We’ve recently spotted support beams within this framework and it looks like there might even be an additional piece of track installed now. The track does end abruptly not too far away, so we’re eager to see which direction this ride goes next.

Walls are getting closer to completion on this side and soon, the inner workings of this building will be hidden from us.

There’s a lot happening along the water’s edge, and we’ve been watching the crew remove large amounts of dirt for the last few days. It looks like they’ve got this area cleared out now, so we’ll be interested to see what changes happen here in the next few days.
