There are countless reasons why I love visiting Walt Disney World. Characters, attractions, and shows are only some of those reasons. Honestly, if being the Most Magical Place on Earth isn’t reason enough to visit, I don’t know what is! Oh, wait… yes, I do…FOOD! Food is reason enough.
There is only one thing I love more than a delicious snack, and that’s a delicious Disney snack. I am sure a lot of you out there agree with me! But, for those of you who may not have had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World yet, when you go, you are in for a real treat! (Pun intended!)
Walt Disney World has hundreds of yummy snacks to choose from! Where do I even start? After watching Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde talk about some of the design and inspiration behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I was really missing the park and craving some of my favorite treats there! So, that was the answer to where we should start!
Jambo everyone! We are headed over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to talk about my favorite treats! After I share my favorites, I want to hear about your favorite snacks too! At the end, do not forget to vote for your favorite and leave a comment. Here are my top 5 favorite snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The Countdown
5. Malva Cake Sundae
You can find this magnificent tower of sugar at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa. The Malva Cake Sundae is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth. Just check out that ooey-gooey goodness. The pairing of the warm cake, vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce is perfect! I find it a filling and refreshing treat all at once!
4. Pongu Lumpia
Pandora houses massive mountains, larger than life plants, enormous lines, and huge flavors! The Pongu Lumpia found at Pongu Pongu packs a tasty punch inside of that sugar-coated spring roll. Is that pineapple? Or is that cream cheese? Oh, it’s both my friend, and it is delish! If you have never tried the Pongu Lumpia, you must have one next time you visit.
3. Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork
Two of my favorite foods have found each other at last! The mac and cheese and pulled pork combo are to die for. Now, I know that this snack is big enough to be an entree but when I order it, I usually split it with someone so it can be a snack, too. Even though they are two of my favorite foods, I was skeptical at first, thinking that they might not taste good together, but after trying it I will never doubt again! You can find this scrumptious delight at one of my favorite quick-service locations, Flame Tree BBQ.
2. The Most Beautiful Cake
Is it the most beautiful don’t you think? I love that they themed The Most Beautiful Cake after this popular photo spot! And, not only is it adorable, it is very yummy! So delicious that I made it my number two favorite. This is a coconut cake topped with creamy coconut mousse, filled with a pineapple center, and accompanied by coconut crisps. I am a huge chocolate fan, so it is hard for me to find non-chocolate desserts that I enjoy, but this one deserves the love! You can find this beauty at the Harambe Market in Africa.
- Buffalo Chicken and Chips
There are so many amazing snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but I had to pick a number one favorite. So, I had to think about which snack is my go-to? Which one do I have to have when I visit? It was actually an easy answer: Buffalo Chicken and Chips! You can find this “dino-mite” snack over at Trilo-Bites, near the entrance of Dinoland U.S.A. Honestly, I could eat the chips just by themselves, but adding buffalo chicken and ranch on top makes for a very scrumptious treat!

Extra Magic Tip
Grab your Mac and Cheese Pulled Pork from Flame Tree BBQ and head over to the designated seating area to the left, then head all the way down to the tables right next to the lake. You will have a beautiful and peaceful view of the lake and Expedition Everest. It is a great picture opportunity! You will also be able to hear all of the fun screams coming from the brave mountain climbers on Everest!
THE HAYSTACKS AT ZURIS. Only place in WDW that has them and they are pure peanut butter bliss. Tell everyone.
They’re gone now though.
Please! Churros from the Nomad Lounge…
I don’t know what it is, but every time I’m at AK I need to get the elephant ears over in Africa. Chocolaty and flaky… so good!
But great list of other options!
The tiger tail from Isle of Java is my must get snack at DAK
The Corn on the Cobb at the Harambe Fruit Cart is AMAZING! Flame-grilled, butter dipped and topped with Market Curry Spice.
