UPDATE: “The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” Is Not Currently Planned to Open October 1st at Tokyo Disneyland

Over the weekend, we discovered that the Tokyo Disney Resort official website listed the highly-anticipated The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast E-ticket attraction as eligible for the Happy 15 Entry privilege enjoyed by Disney Hotel guests starting October 1st. However, after speaking to Public Relations at the Oriental Land Company, we can say with certainty that this is not (currently) the case.

We spoke today to the Public Relations department at the Oriental Land Company, owner and operator of Tokyo Disney Resort, and they told us “The resumption of Happy 15 Entry and the opening of the Tokyo Disneyland expansion have not been decided as of yet.”

This holds true to the previous statements regarding the New Fantasyland expansion made by the Oriental Land Company over the past few months.

The official TDR website, however, is also not entirely incorrect, according to OLC. The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast will be eligible for Happy 15 Entry, similar to Morning Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World, once the attraction opens and Happy 15 Entry resumes. But when to resume Happy 15 Entry, and when to open the expansion, are still undecided. In their financial reports last month, the Oriental Land Company did say that construction on the expansion is complete and the area is essentially ready to open once conditions improve.

We appreciate the Oriental Land Company responding to our request for comment on this rumor. While we’re disappointed at the lack of any further news about the exciting and massive New Fantasyland expansion, we’re sure that the Oriental Land Company is just as excited to open it as we are to experience it ourselves. Until then, stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest news from Tokyo Disney Resort!
