A familiar — but slightly modified — sight returned to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this morning. Boat service to the Magic Kingdom has resumed. Along with social distancing markers at the boat dock, there is an additional change. Disney Transportation is using Discovery River Boats rather than the launches that normally serve the resort.
Boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom begins 30 minutes prior to park opening and continues for one hour after park close. As always, the operating schedule is subject to change.
The return of boat transportation comes on the heels of the resort’s reopening. It had previously been part of the National Basketball Association bubble.
A Discovery River Boat arrives to take guests from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom.
Physical distancing markers have been added along the dock.
As always, a rope and sign instruct guests to wait to board.
The short trip gives guests a glimpse of construction projects happening around the Seven Seas Lagoon.
The crane at the TRON Lightcycle / Run construction site towers in the distance.
A new boat launch is under construction just below the monorail station.

Hopefully the Friendships that run between Epcot resorts, Epcot & Hollywood St. will return to service soon, too!
