Magic Kingdom has opened the bypass street that takes guests behind buildings on the right-hand side of Main Street, U.S.A to mitigate crowds.

This street opens up next to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant and empties next to the Tomorrowland Terrace. This is usually opened on busy days as an easier way to get guests in and out of the park.

Crowds during the rainy day cavalcade were nowhere near their usual level pre-COVID, but guests were having trouble social distancing.

There are green dots on the sidewalks of Main Street, U.S.A. to indicate where parties should congregate for effective social distancing.

The bypass street was mostly empty, so guests could socially distance with ease.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios also seemed busy this week, with wait times reaching 105 minutes.

  1. I could care less about how many people are social distancing or wearing a mask. I’m much more concerned about how Disney continues to lose money with lackluster park bookings (due to all the restrictions), a failed Mulan movie, and more bad decisions as of late.

  2. I understand the need (desire?) to increase park capacity but with no Fastpass+ available, wait times back to mostly “normal”, shortened parades, no stage shows, or nighttime spectaculars, it’s frustrating and encourages me to place my travel dollars elsewhere.

For reference: We’re out-of-state passholders and for 2020 have been in Feb., July, Sept.

    P.s. July was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

  3. We were at Hollywood Studios on Sunday– what a mess that place was! Virtual Queue is a freaking joke! LOVED the RnR Coaster– fantastic ride!

  4. The crowds in those photos don’t look terrible on Main Street, though probably at the limit of what I’d be comfortable with right now. I’m happy to see Disney taking steps to address that with the bypass opening. I always appreciated that route when leaving after fireworks and before the MSEP.

  5. Wait times are ridiculous!! They should be running the rides at full capacity. We should not be standing in lines for 90 minutes. Disney can do better!
