PHOTOS: Work Continues on Illuminated Canopy and Grid Enclosure for TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom

Installation has begun on the illuminated canopy that will cover the exterior of TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom. Portions of the canopy are being built on the ground and then raised into place. The next canopy piece is coming along quickly.

There are some tarps and construction vehicles obstructing the view, but workers were busy at the canopy piece today.

A truck full of pallets of construction materials was also parked nearby.

We can see the illuminated canopy that has been installed above the track.

A worker in a cherry picker seemed to be securing part of the canopy.

More workers were visible on the structure below the track as it enters The Grid show building.

On the other side of the building, dark blue paneling now covers about half of the structure.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to be completed in 2021, barring any further delays. The Magic Kingdom guidemap does declare the coaster is “Now Programming” which indicates that Disney is planning on opening it sooner rather than later.
