California Health Secretary to Announce Update on Theme Park Reopening Guidelines Tomorrow

During today’s COVID-19 update, Governor Gavin Newsom stated that the California Health and Human Services Secretary, Dr. Mark Ghaly, will supposedly be giving an update on theme park reopenings tomorrow.

That’s why we’re being very stubborn about some industries in the state that I know are eager to get guidelines. Tomorrow, Dr. Ghaly will update you on some of those industries and guidelines, including sports and some of these theme parks. We’re going to break up the theme parks—it’s not just one or two brands, it’s many different parts that are part of the theme park industry. But Dr. Ghaly will be updating you tomorrow on those guidelines. Again, I hope one recognizes our stubbornness on a health-first, data-driven decision-making process…

Theme parks will be “broken up into parts” to represent all brands and sizes of theme parks in the industry. During last week’s update, Dr. Ghaly reiterated that Orange County, which includes Anaheim and the Disneyland Resort, was still under a Red “Substantial” tier code. Earlier today, the Coalition of Resort Labor Unions has reached out directly to Governor Gavin Newsom regarding the reopening of Disneyland Resort, stating they supported reopening under the “Orange” or moderate tier.

  1. I wish he would stop using the word stubborn. Every time someone uses that word I get feelings of frustration. If it was really “health-first” and “data-driven” decision making, the parks would be able to open with masks and social distancing.

Anyway, I don’t want to get too excited since previous articles like this ended up in disappointment. Thanks for the update.

  2. Oh, I’m so glad they are going to announce the health and safety guidelines for the reopening of Disneyland tomorrow. I sure hope they announce that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the Royal Hall 😊😁😀☺️🤠😸🙂😃🙂❤️💙💜💝 will be available by the end of winter ❄️, because I know someone who has two daughters and they look like they would make excellent Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique customers and the kind of girls who would like to get a hug from Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella 😍❤️💙💜💝 in the Royal Hall 😊😁😀☺️🤠😸🙂😃🙂❤️💙💜💝.

    • Im guessing you’re on some sort of list and are required to notify your neighbors when you move to a new town.

  3. I hope theme parks can open safely without causing a huge surge. The thought of thousands of people from everywhere descending upon the state sends shivers up my spine. We’ll see….
