The last of the few of the iconic crossbeams left on the roof of the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have been removed. Removal of the crossbeams began earlier this month and has been moving quickly.
There still remains a horizontal support and a vertical support with no crossbeams on them.
The entire structure will likely be gone next week, though a new version of the crossbeam structure will take its place.
Work will also soon begin on new Moana-themed rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The entire refurbishment will last until next summer, when the resort will finally reopen to all guests.
