We’re only two weeks into the eight-week refurbishment of the Magic Kingdom toll plaza in honor of the park’s 50th anniversary next year, and the plaza’s new color palette is becoming clear.

The freshly painted section is clear as guests approach the plaza.

The first three lanes are closed for now, but painting seems to be wrapping up in that section, so workers will be closing off another group of lanes soon.

The royal blue and richer golds are a stark contrast to the old, faded coloring.

It seems the new colors are going to match Cinderella Castle’s new design, with royal blue, gold, and some pink.

A hint of rose gold was recently added to the “W” and has now been added to the “E.” The metal flags above them also seem to have some rose gold.

Workers in a high reach were cleaning up the underside of the plaza, where the booths are also getting a fresh coat of paint.

We noticed a slight difference between the two gold hues being used; this may be a test between two different shades or finishes or merely a difference in sheen as the paint dries. We’ll have to see how the golden makeover progresses to tell.
