Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Refurbishment Extended Through January 9, 2021

Guests will need to wait a bit longer to take a trip on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. The refurbishment calendar shows the attraction will not open until January 9, 2021 at the earliest.

This is the fourth date change since the refurbishment was announced. Disney had initially projected an October 31 completion date. That date slipped to the end of November. In each instance, a month was added to the refurbishment timeline. Now, it’s being updated on a week-by-week basis.

According to the My Disney Experience app, January 9, 2021 is the final scheduled day for the refurbishment. Of course, this is the extent to which park hours have been populated on the Walt Disney World calendars, so it may just be an automated rollover to the next calendar slot.

Work continues on the attraction, with structural support work and permits being filed as signs of progress. The attraction has not operated since the Magic Kingdom reopened July 11, 2020.
