REVIEW: NEW Peppermint Mocha Snowman and Gingerbread Holiday Ornament Doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnut at Universal Orlando CityWalk
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! There are a lot of exciting holiday offerings and events coming to Universal Orlando Resort this weekend. Amidst the excitement, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on these new holiday doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnut at CityWalk.
There are three new doughnuts: two snowman doughnuts and a holiday ornament doughnut. Universal Orlando Annual Passholders got exclusive early access to these doughnuts today, November 13, 2020. They will go on-sale for everyone tomorrow, November 14, and will be available through January 3.
Though you can’t build a snowman without two doughnuts, these are sold separately and have different flavors. Both yeast doughnuts are dipped in vanilla icing.
Snowman Head Doughnut
The head of this snowman is filled with white chocolate mocha cream.
It tastes like a vanilla filling with a slight marshmallow flavor. We didn’t pick up on any mocha at all. It’s delicious, but simple.
The black icing has a chocolatey taste to it.
It’s good, but it didn’t wow us… and we probably wouldn’t order it again.
Snowman Body Doughnut
The snowman’s body is filled with chocolate peppermint custard.
This doughnut hit us with some strong minty flavor. The peppermint in the center tasted just like a candy cane, and the decorative icing tasted almost like a peppermint patty.

The inside is runny, with the consistency of chocolate pudding.
You’re going to be tasting mint for a while after eating this one. It’s slightly overpowering, but if you like candy canes, this is a super sweet snack.
Holiday Ornament Doughnut
The holiday ornament is a yeast raised shell doughnut dipped in vanilla icing and filled with gingerbread cheesecake. It also comes with different holiday ornament designs. We went with the string lights design, but there was also a Christmas tree option.
This doughnut was like getting a present early—it’s that delicious! The sweet vanilla icing is a classic pairing with the yeast doughnut.
The gingerbread cheesecake filling is to die for. The only downside is that there is a lot more doughnut than filling.
Overall, it has a great gingerbread flavor that’s not too overpowering. It’s creamy, since it’s cheesecake-style, and reminds us of homemade gingerbread. It tasted like a freshly iced gingerbread cookie.
Premier Passholders get 15% off and Preferred Passholders get 10% off these doughnuts. Which one are you most excited to try?
