When it comes time to “rise to the challenge” on Avatar Flight of Passage, be ready to also face new social distancing measures, or lack thereof.
The popular attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom initially opened with strict social distancing measures, and while many of those are still in place throughout the queue, riders are now being seated at every link chair, or ride vehicle, versus leaving a seat in between parties.
This adjustment comes after a slew of protocols were also relaxed over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with every row of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Slinky Dog Dash now being seated as well. Over at another screen-based attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, a 4/2 configuration has been established with the addition of plexiglass dividers, allowing two parties to ride in the same cockpit at a time. No plexiglass dividers have been installed aboard Flight of Passage as of yet.
These changes will aid in the lowering of wait times, but may make some guests uncomfortable given the proximity of other guests while riding.
