Greetings, World Travelers from a very cold day-after-Christmas at EPCOT! Despite the uncharacteristically low temperatures, we were excited to come out to the park and see what new things we could find today. Let’s get started!
We started off the day by finding some new Limited Release and Limited Edition pins. The first thing we found was this Star Wars Clone Wars Limited Release Mystery Pin Set. Each box contains two randomly selected pins. We found this pin set at Pin Traders for $19.99.
We also found several other Star Wars themed Limited Edition and Limited Release Pins at Pin Traders, including this pin featuring Princess Leia by Her Universe. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Nearby at Gateway Gifts, we found this new four-pack of park-themed antenna toppers for $17.99. We love the Mickey Bar!
On our way to Mouse Gear, we checked in on the progress on the facade of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Recently we were able to see inside the building as it was being worked on and catch a glimpse of the interior. Not much work has been done on the outside in the last few days, but work will no doubt resume soon.
Nearby at the Play! Pavilion, no further progress has been made on the exterior since we saw workers change the few remaining roof panels near the skylights close to the base a few weeks ago.
Our construction updates weren’t all bland today however, as the construction walls have been removed around Space 220, although the sign remains covered. A box has been constructed around the sign to hide it from view.
Once in Mouse Gear, we found a few pieces of new merchandise to tell you about. The first thing we found was this new tie dye towel featuring Minnie Mouse and the phrase “Be Epic” for $26.99.
Next, we found a new collection of costume jewelry featuring Minnie Mouse and some colorful icons with bracelet, necklace, ring, and earring options.
We found two new additions to the printed fan collection. The first one has colorblock “Mickey”s on it, and the second features Orange Bird and the phrase “Squeeze Me!”. Both retail for $9.99.
We found a great deal on Wonderland Tea products, which are currently buy one, get one free. Additional discounts do stack on this sale, so don’t forget to use your Annual Passholder, Disney Vacation Club, or Cast Member Discount on top of this sale.
We found a new addition to the Disney Babies line today. Eeyore has joined the lineup with his adorable eyes. His little tail even comes off! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
After leaving Mouse Gear, we checked out some of the construction happening in the Innoventions East building. Interior walls are being constructed underneath the shell of the roof and framing. It’s really interesting to see this building being constructed from the inside out!
Over at Innoventions West, demolition has ceased for the moment, but no other progress has been made. A lot of debris still hangs from the ceiling and remaining walls in the old Art of Disney building.
In The Seas Pavilion, window maintenance continues in the salt water tank upstairs.
A new festive tank decoration appeared today, this time in the dolphin tank. It looks like this one isn’t just for show though, as the hoops are large enough for the dolphins to swim through. We hope we get to see the dolphins play with it sometime!
In The Land Pavilion, the “down” escalator was closed, and in order to help maintain social distancing on the stairs, a Cast Member was placed at the top to regulate the flow of traffic on the stairway.
Even though the Festival of the Holidays is almost over, we found a new addition to the menu at the Waffles booth. A second Gingerbread waffle option is now available, with Whipped Cream, Chocolate Ganache, and Crushed Peppermint for $4.25.
Moving into World Showcase, we were struck with how light the crowds were today. We also noticed that there were barely any lines at all for the festival food booths. It was definitely a noticeably lighter crowd today.
While in the Morocco Pavilion, we noticed that the door for the still-closed Restaurant Marrakesh was open just a hair.
We took a peek inside but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.
In the Art of Disney in American Adventure, we found a few Steiff plushes for sale. This Lion King Gift Set features Simba, Nala, Timon, and Pumba and retails for $450.00.
Last week we saw the Steamboat Willie Mickey plush, and today he was joined by Steamboat Willie Minnie. They retail for $385 each.
We found two Holiday Market locations closed today, both of which have been selling Christmas merchandise. This location is near the Germany Pavilion.
This location is across from the Mexico festival food booth, and was also closed today. We have no other information as to why they were closed or when they will reopen.
The “line starts here” sign for Frozen Ever After got a little festive holiday makeover today. We found it all decked out in a garland with snowmen on it, which we thought was rather fitting.
We found Mickey and Minnie on their World Tour today as we were leaving the park. We love seeing them all dressed up for the holidays!
We have waited for so long to take a picture of Spaceship Earth with this beautiful new entrance fountain in front of it! We are so excited to finally be able to end a report with a picture like this. We had a wonderful day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
