The epic illuminated canopy structure at TRON: Lightcycle / Run continues to grow. As was the case a few days ago, a large crew is installing the canopy. Today we saw numerous workers and construction lifts working on the upcoming Magic Kingdom attraction.

A sign outside the construction site gives guests a glimpse of what is to come. A large construction crane is still on-site.

Various structures — the rollercoaster track, canopy supports, and canopy frame — create a steel nest.

Next to the show building, a mobile crane appears ready to hoist heavy pieces into place.

Ride vehicles will exit the show building at the bottom left. The opening is currently covered. After zipping under the canopy, the rollercoaster trains will enter The Grid through the upper left.

Material covers much of the track. The material prevents damage to the ride system during construction.

On the ground, a team works on the white canopy structure. This piece will eventually be lifted into place.

  1. Tron is a really great coaster – I loved it in Shanghai – but it will seem odd and out of place at MK next to Space Mountain. I really can’t believe they are just copying and pasting it without any changes to the architecture of either Tron or the rest of the land. It’s just… odd. It would have fit perfectly in Epcot…
