While on the Disney Skyliner today, we caught sight of one of the new “Harmonious” barges docked backstage at EPCOT, with one side of its screen panels fully lit. When Harmonious debuts at the park, this will be one of four barges that will surround the main massive circular barge as part of the show.
The fan-dubbed “taco barge” (after its shape) is seen with all of its screens on, emitting a bright white light from a distance. Along the top edge of the barge is a rotating arm which will feature additional lights. Check out the video below for a bird’s-eye look of the illuminated barge:
In the video, you can see how the other barge is still having its screens installed, to the right of the illuminated barge.
From this angle, you can make out the inner workings of the barge, which are visible in between the two screens.
One of the barges was recently deployed to World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT for testing. During the day, these barges will act as fountains to entertain guests until the nighttime show begins. However, many guests have bemoaned the loss of sight lines due to the massive size of these barge structures.
