• Los Angeles county issued a stay-at-home order on December 2 due to a swell in COVID-19 cases
• One day later, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a regional stay-at-home order based on available ICU beds
• On December 5, ICU bed capacity dipped below 15% in some California regions, triggering stay-at-home orders in Southern California
