There was a surprise disturbance in The Force today. During this morning’s visit to Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we found a small sign inside a showcase. A new Legacy Lightsaber would be revealed tonight!
We spoke to Cast Members. None of them had an idea what was being previewed, only that the preview would start at 5:00 PM. Naturally, we joined the virtual queue to return just before the reveal.
The wait was worth it! The upcoming Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber was revealed!
The Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber will ignite a blue blade. An adapter will be available to make it a dual-bladed lightsaber.

The hilt was displayed on a stand, which is not included.

Kestis is the protagonist in the successful 2019 Star Wars video game Jedi: Fallen Order.

The Cal Kestis hilt features a U-shaped emitter.

Cal’s lightsaber becomes less finished as it works its way down the hilt. The seam on the handle is likely where the optional dual-blade attachment will connect.

Those who have played Jedi: Fallen Order know that Cal upgrades his lightsaber along his journey.

Disney had previously shared the above rendering of the Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber. The Kestis hilt won a fan vote held in Fall 2020. The prototype revealed today closely matches the rendering.
Despite this preview, the new Legacy Lightsaber will not be available for purchase until sometime this fall. Some details could change as this is a prototype. Pricing was not revealed. Cast Members informed us that the prototype will be on display through this weekend.
We were also able to capture some video during the reveal.
Disney had previously announced that Legacy Lightsabers would be released throughout 2021. That announcement also indicated that this Cal Kestis hilt would be the final release of 2021. Recent Legacy Lightsaber hilt releases include Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku models. Guests can also build custom lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop.
What do you think of the first Legacy Lightsaber release of 2021? Will you be spending your credits at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities? Perhaps a different hilt is on your list. Share your thoughts in the comments.
Oh, you betcha I’ll be getting this! I love the game, and this design. I can’t wait for fall!!
It’s a great hilt, my favorite actually. I voted on this hilt in Fall of 2020 and I’ve been waiting for it since. Only thing I would change is make the black handle longer to be more game accurate.
