With the holiday weekend over, construction and demolition have picked back up in the World Celebration neighborhood of EPCOT. While demolition has been mostly stagnant, paneling was recently removed from the old Art of Disney section of Innoventions West.
The left wall of the building has been mostly stripped.
One window still remains in place next to the old entrance.
This building and the rest of this half of Innoventions West will eventually be completely demolished to make way for Moana – Journey of Water.
Most walls have been removed from the rest of Innoventions West, exposing the inner structure.
The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts “Expression Section” is on a construction wall to one side of demolition.
Meanwhile, more windows have been installed around Mouse Gear, which is under refurbishment.
The Innoventions East building will eventually house a Starbucks and a quick-service location, taking up all of the former Electric Umbrella (and then some).
Two high reaches are up near the ceiling of the building.
We can see through the bypass between Innoventions East and Mouse Gear.
For a while, we’ve been able to see straight through Mouse Gear, but that’s no longer the case with the new windows.
Some metal structures are just barely visible inside Mouse Gear where windows have not been installed yet.
Innoventions West is barely more than a skeleton, so expect to see it completely come down soon.
Above is concept art for the future World Celebration neighborhood. To the left is Mouse Gear and Starbucks. To the right is Journey of Water. The Festival Center pictured is no longer planned, but there will be a “festival area.”
