During testing of the still closed Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, cars are now crashing into each other. The crashes seem like they might be a purposeful part of testing to ensure no accidental crashes would result in serious issues.

Watch our video of the crash testing below:

You may recall that there has been some litigation against Disney for accidents on the PeopleMover related to these somewhat common collisions. It’s unclear if part of this lengthy refurbishment was to address related issues.

The PeopleMover refurbishment has been extended multiple times, most recently through January 30. It has been closed since March, even before the parks closed due to COVID-19. We have spotted multiple Cast Members on the PeopleMover track in the past few months and the supports surrounding the track have been completely repainted.

Are you excited for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover to reopen? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Yaaaaa. Its about time. I’ve been telling my husband for years. That disney need to reopen people mover I missed it.

  2. I wonder if the cars actually crashed – when one car “hit” another, the other car did not shake as if it had been hit, it just moved forward. I wonder if they put in a trigger, so that when a car is about to be hit, it moves forward.
