REVIEW: Mosaic Canteen Brings a Lackluster New Menu to Morocco for the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

EPCOT asks us to “savor the bold flavors of Morocco” at the Mosaic Canteen food studio during the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. We found this location to be lackluster last year, so let’s see if they can bring the bold flavors and step it up this year!

This was very dry and lacking flavor. It wasn’t served fresh, either. It’s sizeable, but just not very good.

*NEW* Harissa-roasted Rack of Lamb with Baba Ganoush, Picholine Olives, Toybox Tomatoes, Preserved Lemons, and Pomegranate – $8.00

Although this was too salty, the lamb was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was a nice, thick lamb chop.

*NEW* Mouskoutchou: Orange Cake with Cinnamon-Chocolate Mousse – $4.75

This tastes like an orange Hostess cupcake. It is bad enough quality that it actually makes us think it could be pre-packaged. The orange flavor tastes artificial and cheap. This one’s definitely a pass.

*NEW* 1906 Reserva Especial Dark Amber Lager (6.5% ABV) – $4.50 (6 oz) & $8.50 (12 oz)

Estrella Galicia says that this beer has a “beautiful dark amber color. Clean and bright, maintaining its abundant thick foam during consumption,” while the aroma is “a mixture of hops and malt, with a dominant clean aroma of toasted malt, straightforward and intense.” The taste is “thick, dense and round. It has an elegant bitter touch that melts in the mouth. Aftertaste is long and pleasant.”

*NEW* Maeloc Blackberry Hard Cider (4.0% ABV) – $4.50 (6 oz) & $8.50 (12 oz)

Estrella Galicia describes this cider’s aroma as having notes of “fresh berries and floral aromas,” while the taste is a “perfect balance of blackberry tartness and apple sweetness, with subtle ‘jammy’ notes of raspberry and cherry. Lightly Carbonated.”
