PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 2/22/21 (Mad Tea Party Closed For Refurbishment, New Skyliner Dooney & Bourke Bags Arrive, “Raya and the Last Dragon” Merchandise Appears, and More)
Hello from an absolutely beautiful day here at the Magic Kingdom! We had an exciting day here at the park, so let’s get started!
We found the Cinderella Castle moat almost completely drained, with stairs for the work on the 50th Anniversary decorations already in place on the west side.
We also found the decking had been removed from the stage at Cinderella Castle, meaning the refurbishment has just begun.
The second construction box has been removed from around the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover support, leaving scrim fabric blocking the base of the support from view.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover is still closed for refurbishment, although we did see a brief moment of testing as Cast Members were trained today.
The Mad Tea Party has closed for refurbishment, and has been enclosed in scrim walls to hide construction from guests’ view. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Refurbishment work in Fantasyland has moved on to Gaston’s Tavern, with the sign getting a fresh coat of paint over the weekend. No further work has been completed here yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye on the progress.
We found the curtain to the former ghost portrait room in Memento Mori closed today, while it has been traditionally open. Although it could be nothing, we’ll be keeping an eye on this spot for further developments.
The Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which was seen in a slightly different form as a holiday offering, has returned to the menu at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe as a regular menu item. Guests can now enjoy this popular entree at any time of the year.
A new design of Dooney & Bourke Designer handbags were released today, featuring Disney’s Skyliner. We think this just might be our favorite form of Walt Disney World travel, ad we love these new bags! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Today as new snacks and experiences were debuted across Walt Disney World featuring characters from “Raya and the Last Dragon”, we found new merchandise for the upcoming film at The Emporium. For a full look at every piece with pictures and prices, check out our article here.
We also found new Limited Edition and Limited Release pins for the upcoming film “Raya and the Last Dragon” at Frontier Trading Post. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Lastly, we found three new designs in the MaDe kiosk in Tomorrowland Light & Power Co, all featuring The Muppets. Our favorite was this group shot, showcasing some of our favorite characters. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
