Hello from a suddenly cooler and beautiful day here in Walt Disney World! We thoroughly enjoyed the reprieve from the heat. We found lots to show you today, so let’s get started!
There always seems to be pavement work being done somewhere in Walt Disney World, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is no exception. We found crown barriers blocking fresh cement near the entrance to Dinoland U.S.A. this morning.
The refurbishment of Kali River Rapids continues, and today we could see some construction workers just past the wall at the exit working on the fence.
Although plexiglass at the load zone at Expedition Everest was added some time ago, these plexiglass barriers in the queue closer to the entrance were added more recently.
It was definitely a good day for snacks, with our first finds being these springtime treats at Zuri’s Sweet Shop. We love the Easter Egg caramel apples!
Next, we tried this adorable Thumper Springtime Cupcake. This was the carrot cake treat we’ve been waiting for! For more pictures and information, including our full review, check out our article here.
In merchandise news, we found even more new Expedition Everest apparel, including this adorable Women’s shirt. For more pictures and information on all the new pieces, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but the day was far from over! Next, we headed to Disney Springs to check out a new treat at Amorette’s Patisserie.
To celebrate the premiere of the series “Falcon And The Winter Soldier” on Disney+, Amorette’s Patisserie made a special petit cake decorated for the show. For more pictures and information, including our full review, check out our article here.
Then we headed to the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see what new things had arrived for spring there. We found this absolutely stunning chocolate egg in the lobby, which had been masterfully painted.
The treats we found at Gasparilla Island grill were next-level adorable and we couldn’t help but pose them together.
On our way into the park, we took a moment of reflection in Town Square in front of the American Flag, which is at half staff from now until Monday in respect for the victims of the violent acts perpetrated on March 16, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia. Our hearts go out to those touched by this tragedy.
Moving into the park, and continuing our construction updates, we found netting had been added to the exit canopy area of the Swiss Family Treehouse.
Additional netting was added to the entrance canopy, although it was not finished.
The metal tubing being installed on Cinderella Castle Stage has been completed on one half of the stage. The metal sheeting marks the center line.
Our most exciting find of the day was this new addition to the 50th Anniversary decorations being added to Cinderella Castle. Being the largest single piece added yet, this turret swag is an impressive and beautiful piece and is starting to give us an idea of the scale that these new decorations are going to be going to. For more pictures and information on this new addition, check out our article here.
In merchandise news, a new Dooney & Bourke collection is coming to the parks on March 22nd featuring Disney sidekicks. We can’t wait for this collection! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
At The Emporium, we found this latecomer to the “Kingdom of Cute” line with this new lunch box featuring all the park icons. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
On our way out of the park, we found the Express and Resort Monorails line closed for beam maintenance, and later found workers at the switch point working on the line. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and at Walt Disney World. We hope you enjoyed coming along with us today. Have a magical day!
