Today marks the beginning of the remodeling and expansion project at the Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom. As part of this transition, the Main Street Cinema reopened today to serve as a temporary outlet for pre-made treats and bagged candy normally sold at The Confectionery. Most of the interior remains intact at the Cinema, save for one feature—the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game portal has been removed.
The former portal has now been replaced by a temporary construction wall and a door. The plaque where Guests would stand to play the game is also missing, with a distinct spot on the carpet showing much less wear than areas around. Some of the lighting and sound infrastructure for the game can still be seen above.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom closed on January 24th after eight years of the beloved card game. This marks the first portal completely removed from the Magic Kingdom.

My kids loved the game and collecting cards from the firehouse with each visit. Sad to see it go and knowing disney it will be replaced with some cell phone driven game to drive up more screen time at the park
