Cinderella Castle is receiving a transformation just in time for the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. Included in this transformation is a refurbished castle stage. While the stage had been stripped bare recently, we are happy to report this morning that the framework is laid for the new stage flooring.

The platforms and flooring were removed recently, and then a layer of weather-proofing was added to cover the base of the stage.

Now, flooring joists are installed as the next step in the stage’s refurbishment. Wooden floor joists cover a large portion of the stage, and eventually flooring will be placed on top of them.

So far they are installed along the left side of the stage while the right side is still bare.

The front of the stage remains covered in grey scrims, blocking the construction from guest view.

One of the railings has been temporarily removed while new flooring is laid.
