It’s time for another update on the construction of TRON Lightcycle / Run at the Magic Kingdom! After the recent completion of the canopy frame, crews continued to remove the temporary supports that had supported the frame during construction. Progress continues on the removal in multiple areas.

Many lifts are in place for crews to work near the show building. While the building is still sealed and indoor progress halted, it is exciting to see the project moving forward.

Another set of lifts on the far side of the canopy are hard at work. It would appear that removal is being done along the central support line.

In the background, crews are visible working on a portion of the canopy that has already had the temporary supports removed.

A lone crew member hard at work toward the center of the canopy.

Another pair continues to progress. On the beam above the crew member in the yellow vest, a connection piece for the temporary support is still attached to the canopy frame.

The temporary supports are brown, making it easy to see where they were attached to the canopy structure.

These large supports were in place to hold up the canopy structure as it was constructed. Now that the canopy frame is complete, the supports are no longer necessary.

Part of the workspace has been converted to a staging area for the removed supports.

The supports are being removed in large sections. Here, a crew is adding another piece to the staging area after successful removal.

While highly anticipated, TRON Lightcycle / Run will not be completed in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary this fall. A projected opening date has not yet been announced.
