The entrance to EPCOT has been completely reimagined amidst a major refurbishment of the entirety of (what for now is) Future World. Now work has moved to the pavement closer to Gateway Gifts beneath Spaceship Earth.

If the pavement of this entire area is going to be replaced, we’ll likely be seeing these planters in different spots for several weeks.

A peek through the shrubs let us see that the ground has indeed been torn up, exposing dirt. This area around Spaceship Earth and heading down the sides of the new entrance area was conspicuously left untouched at the completion of the area, but it looks like this pavement will be replaced, possibly to match the new sections adjacent.
