PHOTOS: Innoventions West Demolition Continues as Large Pieces of Building Frame are Removed at EPCOT

The demolition of Innoventions West continues at EPCOT. Structural supports and metal framing continue to be dismantled as the entire area is under construction as part of the newly reimagined EPCOT.

Metal framing continues to be removed during the construction project.

Large pieces remain, but an aerial view shows that the former Innoventions West is now condensed to just a few metal pieces.

A large piece of the horizontal framing was completely removed since our last update.

The building previously extended across the entire area shown in the photo below.

As more structural supports and the remaining pieces of the roof are removed, we aren’t too far from a complete demolition of the entire building.

The demolition has removed what was previously the Art of Disney store and the home to several character meet and greet locations. A brand new attraction, Journey of Water, inspired by Moana, will be taking the place of this former Innoventions West building.

  1. This is going so slowly that I’m convinced that there’s only a single guy assigned to the project.

  2. Maybe I’m missing something, but I am not seeing Journy of Water as an “attraction”. I see it as something to pass through on your way to someplace you really want to be at EPCOT. Perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised when it is finished in 2025 (or so).
