REVIEW: Plant-Based Poutine Arrives at Refreshment Port for the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

During the food festivals at EPCOT, additional permanent locations around the park will add a specialty item or beverage to their usual lineup of offerings. At the Refreshment Port this year, for the Flower & Garden Festival, a special sausage poutine and popsicle trio have been added to the menu.

*NEW* House-Made Italian Sausage and Peppers Poutine – $9.00

The Italian sausage and peppers poutine did not hit the spot for us. This reminds us of something you’d get off the streets in New York, and not in a good way. The French fries are the standard Quick Service shoestring fries that get soggy quickly.

They are covered in a mash of vegan sausage and chopped peppers. This still outranks anything at Primavera Kitchen, but overall the “sausage” was the consistency of cat food and had a strange after taste. We would not recommend ordering it.

Popsicle Trio: Honeydew, Raspberry-Mint, and Coconut-Lime – $5.00

The trio comes with coconut lime, raspberry mint, and honeydew melon. There are tiny slices of melon with the honeydew one, but they don’t do much to enhance the popsicle. There’s a sprinkling of mint on the raspberry one. The raspberry had a stronger, more intense flavor than the other two. The coconut lime was possibly our favorite of the three. This and the honeydew popsicle were a little lighter in flavor, which was refreshing. Overall, it’s a nice variety of three unique flavors for the price. Be quick to eat them, though, as the Florida sun isn’t kind to them.

*NEW* Starcut Ciders Cidre Colada Hard Cider, Bellaire, MI (6.7% ABV) – $9.75

From Starcut Ciders: “Cidre Colada is a semi-sweet hard cider made with pineapple, coconut, and Michigan apples. Golden in color, this cider has big aromas of tropical fruit. Flavors of tart pineapple, crisp apple, and a coconut finish add the uniqueness of this Piña Colada inspired cider.”

We absolutely loved this cider. It is extremely dry, which we appreciate, and it feels like you are drinking champagne made with apples instead of grapes. This is an incredibly crisp and refreshing drink and we will be ordering seconds!

*NEW* Cutwater Bloody Mary: Ultra-Premium Vodka, All-Natural Tomato Juice and a Dash of Spice (10.0% ABV) – $10.00

*Served from a can* – From Cutwater: “A Classic Bloody Mary. Our Mild Bloody Mary is perfect for those who like a stronger dose of tomato in their mix. This veggie-forward cocktail is made with our signature Cutwater Vodka, featuring ripe tomatoes and exotic spices, for a classic cocktail that is dangerously drinkable.”

*NEW* Cutwater Whiskey Mule: Black Skimmer Bourbon with Ginger Beer, a Hint of Lime and Aromatic Bitters (7.0% ABV) – $10.00

*Served from a can* – From Cutwater: “Our ginger beer, a hint of lime, and aromatic bitters flavor makes for the start of a perfect mule. The addition of our award-winning Bourbon adds a depth of flavor to turn the classic on its head. Spicy, bold, and ready-to-enjoy.”

  1. At least the Sausage and Peppers Poutine doesn’t look like something taken off the floor of the Future World East restrooms….oops wait…..yes it does
