The spoonbread is a rather salty dish. The bacon on top is nice and crisp and adds a wonderful crunch compared to the cornbread.

Despite the jalapenos in the bread, the dish itself is not spicy. The sweet corn really shines through and works perfectly with the salty bacon and smoky jalapeno flavor. This dish is served warm which makes it a wonderful treat.

*NEW* Lavender Honey Mustard-Marinated Chicken Flatbread with Whipped Honey-Ricotta Cheese, Marinated Vegetables and Purple Haze Lavender Goat Cheese – $5.75

The flatbread is chewy and the crust is quite flavorless. It reminds us of the usual quick-service flatbread offerings.

The toppings elevate the flavor of the flatbread, although not enough to detract from the bland crust. The cheese looked promising, but even something as flavorful as crumbled ricotta cheese wasn’t enough to bring much flavor to this dish.

Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses – $5.00

We absolutely love this dessert and dare say that it is one of the best things at the festival. This light and airy dessert is the perfect amount of sweet. The mascarpone is slightly grainy, but we don’t dwell on that for long as we devour the slightly sweet honey cheesecake. We highly recommend this dessert for a sweet treat at the festival.

*NEW* First Magnitude Brewing Co. Honey Bee Citrus Blonde Ale, Gainesville, FL (5.7% ABV) – $4.50 / $8.50

Barrie C. on Untappd says about this beer: “Honey on the tongue and light citrus and hops on the backend. Light and easy drinking.”

Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine, St. Petersburg, FL ($20/bottle) – $6.00

From Florida Orange Groves Winery: “Made with Florida’s special Orange Blossom Honey! Honey wine is sometimes called Mead, and ours is the sweetest and best tasting of them all!”

Envisioning a honey wine, we expected a sweet white wine. What we received was a white wine that had a medicinal quality to the taste. One sip per person around our group was more than enough.

Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka – $12.00

Topped with crumbs to give the impression of a peach cobbler, this freeze delivers on multiple fronts. The blueberry vodka mixed well with the honey and peach frozen beverage. All of the flavors combined to create a drink that tasted like a peach cobbler. A truly unique item for this booth and one that’s worth a try as the alcoholic version with the blueberry vodka. We’re unsure how the drink would work without the blueberry.
