Bruce the Shark has made his long-awaited return to Universal Studios Florida. After vanishing in January, San Francisco’s favorite photo-op shark from JAWS is hanging back up in his rightful place.
Bruce used to be a staple of Amity Island until it was demolished in 2012 to make way for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. Amity Village and JAWS live on at Universal Studios Japan.
He’s back and looking better than ever.
While the JAWS Mold-A-Rama helped ease the pain of his absence, nothing can replace the real thing. We’re glad to see Bruce the shark return to Universal Studios Florida.
The rope that usually “suspends” Bruce by looping through his mouth is currently missing.
A temporary barricade is up around Bruce right now, so you’ll have to wait to stick your head in his mouth for photos.

I took a pic with him my senior year spring break 2002. Last year the end of July start of August. I took my family for the first time and my children got pics in his mouth. I miss the Jaws ride wish they could have rode it. But we love Universal going back this Summer. Will get more pics with Bruce!!!!
I didn’t know Jaws was nicknamed Bruce. I only knew Bruce the shark from Finding Nemo.
That’s where the Finding Nemo character got its name
Jaws is one of my favorite movies, and while I love HP, I was disappointed i didn’t get to ride the Jaws ride since we didn’t visit for the first time until 2018. So, when I spotted Bruce while walking, I was so excited to see something Jaws themed! We spent a good 20 minutes taking pictures. I love Bruce and can’t wait to see him again when we visit again in 2022!
