Despite construction not being quite complete on the building’s exterior, the new Universal Studios Store opened today at Universal Orlando Resort’s CityWalk. Watch our video tour of the store below and then read on for photos.
Some of the decorative lighting has not been installed on the exterior.
According to concept art, the blue section on the left will have lighting in the shape of Universal’s iconic globe.
Above another entrance, the awning and roofing has yet to be completed.
Before the store opened at 9:00 AM, we got to check out the brand new window displays.
In addition to merchandise, the windows also display blueprints of various Universal Orlando Resort icons, including the Universal’s Islands of Adventure lighthouse.
Behind this Universal Studios merchandise is the Universal Studios Florida entry archway.
Each display has a theme, so there are blueprints for Springfield behind this Simpsons merchandise.
The Jurassic Park window has images of velociraptors from Jurassic World VelociCoaster instead of blueprints. Two of the oval frames in the window are also advertising the upcoming coaster.
The Marvel window has blueprints from Marvel Super Hero Island.
And the Minions window has a blueprint for Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
At 9:00 AM, we were the first inside when the store opened.
Immediately before us was Jurassic Park and Jurassic World merchandise.
In this room, there’s also a wall of new and old graphic tees.
Right now, they’re $25 each or two for $40.
Our favorite is probably “That’s A Pterrible Idea.”
Though this first room isn’t exclusively Jurassic Park-themed, it had globes and cages to give it a more adventurous feeling.
More blueprints were displayed throughout the store.
There was also Marvel merchandise in here.
In front of a display of pins was the Parcel Pick Up counter.
The archways leading into each room are blue.
The Harry Potter room probably had the most theming.
And the most new merchandise, including this beautiful Hogwarts dish-ware.
Several new throw pillows, mugs, and more feature quotes by Albus Dumbledore.
One display just had pennants and signs to hang on your wall at home.
Above this display was a blueprint of Hogwarts Castle.
A blueprint for Hagrid’s Hut was also on display.
There was a counter with a display of wands.
There was plenty of merchandise for each Hogwarts house.
We liked these new asymmetrical jackets.
There were matching pants that had stripes and a logo for all four houses.
Although its spring, this room did have a few Christmas trees to get you in the Harry Potter spirit.
Lights hanging from the ceiling are reminiscent of the candles in the Great Hall.
Above each merchandise display are various themed props.
A wall of wands was decorated with a tapestry also seen in Hogwarts.
Above the cashier counter was a circular screen playing footage from Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
We were drawn into one section full of candy.
We were excited to see that the store has a fitting room.
