Work has begun on updating Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom to remove offensive content and update the ride’s story. Today, the ride’s iconic rhino pole was gone.

We know the rhino pole will return, with new characters of diverse backgrounds. Below is concept art of what the new version of the scene will look like.

Earlier this month, Trader Sam was also removed from the ride as were several props from the attraction’s queue.

Keep checking WDWNT for updates about this major refurbishment.

  1. All of this is totally ridiculous…..

No one….Absolutely no one complained about diversity on this ride.
Its just window dressing. Thousands have gone on this ride…never
even considering anything racist for years.

    • Thanks for speaking on behalf of millions of visitors. When did you find the time to talk to everyone that’s been on this ride?

    • I agree 100 percent. This is complete bs. We’re forced to appease a certain group of people. It wasn’t ever considered “offensive.” I’d really like to know why the people on the pole were removed. This is utter nonsense. Disney is starting to disgust me.

  2. Wow! Coincidentally, we got to see the rhino pole one last time on Jungle Cruise yesterday before it was apparently yanked overnight. It’s sad to see original IP go away, but the concept art for the replacement looked promising.

  3. It’s bad it’s real sad and I hate to see the original gems leave but could be worse like the Forced perspective at say Beast castle as a replacement….sad miniature golf castle….
