Thanks to a Walt Disney World Cast Member, we can show you yet another sneak peek into the new Moana rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Matt Kowaleski shared the photos on his Facebook page after attending an “Open Mouse” where Disney let Cast Members preview the room.

Last month, Disney gave a sneak peek on the Disney Parks Blog, but now we have an in-depth look at all the details.

It’s been a long journey since we broke the news of the room refurbishments back in August 2019.

Lamps feature many characters, including Pua, Hei Hei, Moana, Maui, and Te Fiti.

A beautiful painting of Moana and her island home of Motunui hangs by the beds.

A look at the new style for the bathroom.

Even the shower tile has Moana-themed details.

Disney’s H2O products are ready and waiting for guests.

Polynesian-style details can be found everywhere, even on the closet doors.

HeiHei stands watch over the coffee maker.

HeiHei was found again in the hallway!

The carpeting is reminiscent of Maui’s tattoos.

Stay tuned to WDWNT for more updates on Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
This is such a horrible mish-mash of “stuff”! I like many of the elements separately, but thrown together they are a chaotic mess. They should do some of the rooms in the blue/brown pallet and some in the pink/purple floral, not mix them together. And I’m still not seeing any grab bars in the shower, which should be mandatory additions across the entire WDW complex.
I wasn’t expecting to like these rooms, but I actually really do! I think they did a good job of making the Moana theming both prevalent and subtle.
I can understand why some people will dislike it but surprisingly I actually really like it.
