Hold onto your hats! Refurbishments have begun at The Barnstormer at Fantasyland as part of the ongoing preparations for the 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom. The park turns the big 5-0 on October 1st of this year, and all around the park, Imagineers have been hard at work to make sure everything is in tip-top shape.

The Great Goofini’s rocket has been repainted, though it may not seem like it at first glance. The wear-and-tear on the crumpled ship looks authentic, which is testimony to the skill of Disney’s Imagineers.

The Barnstormer is the latest in a series of refurbishments at Storybook Circus. Next door, Dumbo the Flying Elephant is being repainted. Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is nearing completion of its refurbishment as well.

Goofy’s target has also been repainted.

Most of the queue awnings have been replaced.

The new awnings look crisp and clean.

A reference to the Mickey’s Toontown Fair version of the attraction can be found on one canopy.

The yellow-and-white striped awning on the end has yet to be replaced. Compared to the new awnings, the white looks dingy.

Stay tuned to WDWNT for more updates on the ongoing refurbishments at Storybook Circus.
