REVIEW: Adorable Easter Bunny Dome Cake Arrives at Captain Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Between the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort and the Easter holiday coming up, there is plenty to celebrate at Walt Disney World. Last month we had a taste of the Easter offerings at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Today we swung by Captain Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to have a taste of some of the new Easter exclusive dessert options. Today we grabbed the Easter Bunny Dome Cake.

Easter Bunny Dome Cake – $5.99

Milk Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Glaze and Buttercream Icing

Two white chocolate bunny ears and a darling little face are the first things you’ll notice about this dessert. Green “Grass” buttercream icing lines the perimeter of our bunny friend. A blue flower and leaves made out of delicious icing sit atop bunny’s head.

This EARrisistably adorable milk chocolate cake is complete with a beautiful butterfly adorning the side of the bunny.

As much as we would like to keep this bunnyutiful cake just for show, it is meant to be eaten, and we were more than hoppy to give it a taste!

The white chocolate exterior gives way to a milk chocolatey center.

The cake is not the best we have had, but its not a bad treat. The white chocolate glaze is pretty thick and the chocolate cake underneath works well but is nothing very rich or moist.

The buttercream is a good addition and does not overpower any of the other flavors of the bunny.

The (edible) bunny ears, along with the overall presentation, were our favorite part! The thickness and flavor is just right. While we did not eat the butterfly, we believe it to be sugar paper.

While the cake left a bit to be desired, it is still a pleasant treat and is definitely worth the price.
