Today, we got a chance to try a new cake flavor at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs.
Gideon’s exclusive “Double Frosted Cake” recently gained a new option: Hazelnut Mocha.
Hazelnut Mocha Double Frosted Cake — $9
As with all double frosted cake slices, this is a decadent, rich overload of a dessert. The slice is made up of layers of chocolate cake, hazelnut mocha frosting, and coffee frosting; then covered in pieces of chopped hazelnut.
The coffee frosting is superb. It adds just the right amount of zing to this otherwise mellow chocolate cake. The cake itself is incredibly moist and delicious. With a wonderful hazelnut flavor, the mocha hazelnut frosting is both rich and chocolatey is perfectly balanced.
Altogether, this may not be the prettiest dessert, but it sure makes up for it in the taste department. We would definitely order this again! You can grab a slice and try it for yourself for $9.00.
