The Wave… of American Flavors & The Wave Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be unavailable this summer as Disney refurbishes the space in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. No exact reopening timeframe has been provided. Reservations will continue to be available through July 15, 2021.
Of course, Disney is currently updating guest rooms at the resort with thematic elements from Pixar’s The Incredibles, and you may remember that we had told you some years ago that there was talk of turning The Wave into “The Incredibles Steakhouse”.
Disney has not announced any changes to the restaurant as of yet, but the timing does seem highly suspect. Only time will tell if the long-standing rumor will come to fruition.

The Wave needs a refurbishment, but let’s hope its not yet even more unnecessary IP. There is a time and place for IP integration. The Contemporary is not it, let the resort stands on is own as it has for 50 years.
