We’ve been watching pavement be replaced throughout Walt Disney World, including in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. Pavement work in Tomorrowland has moved towards the land’s main thoroughfare.
The pavement between Merchant of Venus and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been scored, meaning shallow lines have been cut across it. Lines are cut into the iconic themed gear pavement that was laid in 1994 for New Tomorrowland, meaning it may finally meet its demise.
Scoring is done before resurfacing the pavement.
This is just one of many refurbishment projects Disney has been working on ahead of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” beginning on the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom.
A slab of pavement outside Merchant of Venus has already been replaced and is currently roped off while it dries.
A red light was also removed from outside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and replaced with this box.
